The bloom during the spring time is one of my favorite times of year. As I have driven around over the last weekend I have encountered many wonderful shooting opportunities. Everything is blooming and the grass is turning green. Having an interest in trees and nature, I am easily lured over to take a closer look. Of course I have often included shrubs, trees and plants into my landscape photography. But recently I have found incredible shooting inspiration in the world of macro. A tree in a neighborhood may not seem all that exciting a subject to photograph. Add a macro lens or a lens with macro capability and that same tree becomes a mysterious world with endless photographic opportunities.
I used the macro capability of the Tamron 18-270 VC. The freedom of shooting these images handheld is incredible! The Vibration Compensation technology helped me to create several compelling images. I like to look for different backgrounds to place behind the subject and prefer a shallow depth of field. Sometimes, I find it interesting when something in the background is out of focus, but you can still tell what it is. This sets off the foreground and draws your attention to the primary subject. Here are a few samples.

I love the Tamron 90mm macro for shooting the cherry blossoms this time of year. Great shots, Rob.
